Butter Be Good! Behind JaM Cellars Philanthropy

Butter Be Good; Philanthropy

At JaM Cellars, giving back is a year round thing. John and Michele Truchard — the “J” and “M” in JaM are passionate in giving back to their community, with their philanthropy efforts and support of charities and individuals each year financially, with in-kind donations of wine, time and leadership.  Keep scrolling to see what we’ve been up to!

Wine Plus Music — What a Sweet Relief!

For the fourth year, we’ve renewed our commitment to support Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. To date, we have raised over $75,000 through monthly JaMHappyHour performances benefiting Sweet Relief (featuring artists like G. Love, Lisa Loeb, Emily Kinney, Morgan James and Switchfoot), co-branded merchandise, and viewer donations — helping hundreds of artists in need. In 2024, we are pledging $30K in celebration of Sweet Relief’s 30th anniversary, helping career musicians and music industry workers in need.

Every month, usually on final Fridays (unless we’re at a festival!) our JaMHappyHour live streamed show benefits Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and is hosted by iHeartRadio radio personality Jana Sutter. For every like, share or comment you make during a benefit show, JaM Cellars will donate $1, up to $3,000 per show. We couldn’t be more excited to connect you with delicious wines, great music and do a lot of good all while having a great time!

Grab a glass of deeelish Butter and join us this #GivingTuesday to support JaMHappyHour benefiting Sweet Relief with singer songwriter Zandi Holup on Nov. 28th @4pm PT, named a 2023 Artist to Watch by the Nashville Briefing.

And mark your calendars for the LAST JaMHappyHour performance of 2023 with Jonah Kagen on Dec. 29th @4pm PT. Check out our upcoming JaMHappyHours and links to watch LIVE on Facebook and YouTube. And follow us on social @JaMCellars to find out more ways we’re working with Sweet Relief in 2024 and helping them celebrate their 30th anniversary.

V Foundation

For over a decade John and Michele have supported V Foundation funding leading-edge research to cure cancer. His family having been touched by cancer, sadly few of us haven’t, John was named Vintner Grant Honoree in 2018. Each year, JaM supports the V Foundation wine celebration weekend by donating and pouring our wines and sponsoring musical performances.

Spreading the Love Locally

John and Michele are proud stewards of the land in Napa Valley, they’ve been growing grapes here for 20 years. They are active community supporters through Napa Grapegrowers and Farmworkers Foundation specifically Harvest STOMP which raises money to support farmworkers and their families with professional development, education, legal and financial support.

And as members of the Napa Valley Vintners we advocate for this beautiful wine region and the community that supports it.

One Mind for a Better Tomorrow

JaM isn’t just passionate about feeding the body, but the mind, too! JaM Cellars is currently the music sponsor of  OneMind festival fund-raising to spread awareness and continued research for mental health.
